Neoteric Files Patent for New ScannerHigh Precision Scanner Patent for Features Below 500 micronsFebruary 14,, 2007 -- Neoteric Concepts has filed a patent with United States Patent Office for a novel scanning device which permits precision features below 500 microns by employing standard galvanometers. Refractive optics are attached to the galvanometers to achieve this high level of precision and repeatability. The design permits accuracies normally only achieved by air bearing stages. Neoteric plans to market this product within a few months. The unit is expected to be smaller than existing scan head units and adaptable to most beam delivery systems.
